The New Amo’s Medical Centre

**FRIDAY’S FALL BACK**

With the surge of pornagraphic and sexual content plus the various lusts overtaking the world today, I have found that it’s getting even harder to stay in Christ especially if you are a young person. I went into the archives and pulled this one as my remedy for the problem. My heart yearns for young people across the nations to know Jesus and make Him their Lord and Saviour completely – RADICALLY!  Hope you enjoy your visit to my medical centre today.

I read a blog recently about a young girl who came from a good christian home, went to college and got involved with a “player type guy”.  This guy declares that any girl who hooks up with him has to engage in certain explicit sexual activities. It was also confirmed that this particular young lady (as the guy had said) surely granted him those “special favours”.  [What a pity]  It was truly heart-aching to read.  The person who wrote it titled the document “Christian-Girl-Gone-Bad”.

I honestly believe that if young people (especially christian ones) truly gain an identity of who they are in Jesus, certain things they will abstain from and even if they do fall into them, they will ask forgiveness, turn away and bounce back stronger than they were previously.  I am certain of this because Proverbs 24:16 says: “ A righteous person may fall seven times, but he gets up again…”  [The bible never lies baby].

I have therefore acted on God’s behalf to try to remedy the situation.  After consultation with the infected child (hypothetically), and analyzing the documents presented, Doctor Amo says:

Illness: Christian-Girl-Gone-Bad (CGGB)

Signs: Lack of interest in church activities, irregular to non-church attendance, ill-placed lust, the excuse factors, loss of christian appetite, dusty bibles, cobwebbed godly relationships.

Diagnosis: Boring church services, incomprehension of kingdom life, religious nut-cases, social pressure, hypocrisy, rigid church rules and regulations, lack of identity, media and culture influenza.

Prognosis: Unfulfilled lives, purposelessness, despair, brokenness, sadness, guilt, hurt, sometimes success without happiness, fornication, spiritual adultery.

Prevention Prescription:
Intimacy: Hourly love-making and passion with Jesus.

Healthy Eating: Daily feasting from the buffet table of the Bible.

Radicality: Be real and true to yourself and your gifts at all cost – Authenticity is massively important.

Work: Don’t be busy, be active. Look for opportunities to help serve and honour others. This is key to preventing the gangrene of selfishness, the parasite of pride and the growth of idleness.

Anointing: Daily dose of the anointing before, during or at nights.

WARNING:Take anointing ONLY as directed. Overdose might cause heavenly experiences and fun-filled earthly lives.

Pass the word around the next time you see a full blown CGGB or a potential CGGB in the making.  We can make special arrangements to have them transported here to the centre for rehabilitation.  Simply leave us the information and we will do the rest.

Thanks for making it Doctor Amo’s Medical Centre.

Different Place

My son jumped into ma bed this morning mugged me and began assaulting me with this request:

My son: Mommy tell story to me plz…

Me: A story? Smiling…  What kind?

My son: Story of NJ (His name, he responds with anticipation and a gigantic smile)

Me: Ok. (thinking what kinda story I would tell him) Once upon a time there was a sweet little boy by the name of NJ………

I carried the story on for a while making up as I go along. I began declaring and decreeing somethings over his life – in story format.  Normally at the end of the story I would say “Thee Eeenndddd” stretching out those two words as much as possible since he seems to like when I do it.  However this time, my mind was in a total different place and something else came out:

Me: “….and NJ lived happily ever after, In Jesus Name Amen!”

My son’s face was like huh? Not prayer mommy…story!

The confused look on his face at my end credits caused me to laughed endlessly, I guess I got so caught up in the story it turned in a prayer with lots a Jesus and all.  My heart and soul was in the story and he was so enthused I just got all in there…all in there. It reminded me of  the conversational prayers I have with my Eternal Lover on a daily basis and so it ended likewise. HAHAHA.  It reminds me of this scripture:

“…for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh”. (Matt 12:34 KJV)

Have you ever started one way in a story and ended in  a total different place because your heart “got into it?”

The Liebster Award…

Image

oh goodness!

Yay!

I received the Liebster Blog Award from http://codedjeannie.wordpress.com  who nominated me.  I am so ecstatic and grateful.  Thanks Jeanine.  I am so thankful and appreciative for the nomination.  Please check out her blog.  You’ll find it inspirational, straightforward and even funny.

Thank you so much my dear. I do hope to continue inspire and write to the glory and honour of Jesus.  It was a true surprize and it has made me feel all the more hopeful that my words are reaching out to people all over the world.  Thank you for all the likes, follows and comments along the way.  They have made my blogging experience a rich and fulfilling one. Many blessings go out to you all.  Thanks again Jeanine.

I have to follow some rules governing this blog award. Those who will be nominated must also follow such rules.

Here they are:

First is to accept the award, post the picture of the Liebster Award on the top of post and say who nominated you for the award and list their blog site.

Rule number 1 is to list 11 random facts about me.

Rule number 2 is to nominate 11 other bloggers for the Liebster Award and list their blogsites.

Rule number 3 is to notify the bloggers of their award.

Rule number 4 is to ask the award winners 11 questions to answer when they accept their Liebster Award.

Rule number 5 is to answer the questions left for me by the blogger

Ohhhhh  Kkkkk…  here goes 11 random facts about me

1.   I am Jamaican and proud to be such.

2.   I love going to the movies, would do it every week if it was possible :-)

3.   I love designing my own clothes to minister in… I’ll wear regular designer clothing for everyday affairs but when it comes to going out to speak/minister/motivate, I’d much rather have my clothes originated by me.  (I’m blessed to have someone bring my designs to life).

4.   I never wanted Kids (didn’t think I’d survive the pain so to avoid that I just decided no kids).

5.   I hiss my teeth in private way too much when I am annoyed or aggravated.  ( I’m working on it…help me pray to overcome this awful habit).

6.   If all I could do in life was help young people find the love of Jesus and their purpose in Him, I’d have no regrets.

7.   My husband makes me happy.

8.   When it comes to coffee I only drink French Vanilla Coffee.

9.   I have a super, awesome, intimate, dynamite, personal relationship with my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (wow…calling His name gives me goose bumps and butterfly in my stomach.  He’s awesome)

10.  I love languages.  Would study all the languages of the world if it was possible :-)

11.  I love airplane rides because being so high up in the clouds makes me feel physically closer to heaven.  hahaha.

Ok.  Now to answer the questions I was asked:

1. What is the most memorable event in your life?

This is a tricky question for me.  I really don’t have “A MOST” memorable event.  I have SEVERAL like: when I got married; First time a miracle happened after I prayed for someone; In my first pastorate I was having a real hard time about something and I felt alone and sad. I texted my husband how I felt and He left many miles from an event he had to attend and instead came to be with me.

2. Why did you join WordPress?

I happened to stumble upon it and after figuring out it was a place I could write and share my thoughts to inspire people I jumped on board.

3. What song soothes your soul?

Also another tricky question.  I have several songs that soothes me (some of which are mine that were borne out of intimate worship to my Jesus). There are some songs like “Yahweh” by Mali Music, “Heaven” by Micah Stampley” most worship songs by “Jesus Culture”, “Hillsong” and “Israel Houghton”. My songs like “See Your glory”, “Blazing”

4. Who’s your favorite teacher?

One of my college teachers Dr. O. Fisher.

5. What makes you happy today?

Worshiping Jesus.  (Sounds cheesy but it is the honest truth.  I enjoy nothing else more)

6. Do you believe in God?

Definitely, with all that I am and every parts of my being and personality.

7. What certain experience in your life that made you think you’re a lesser person?

The discrimination I suffered about my skin colour in my first 3 years of high school.

8. Do you always experience the so-called writer’s block. If so, what do you usually do?

Not always but when I do, I usually walk away, do something else and ask God, what do you want me to write today? when He answer, I write.

9. Do you like classic literature? Why or why not?

Aum…hmmm.  Kinda indifferent on this.  I just read whatever interests me classic or modern. :-)

10. Who inspires you a lot to be a writer?

Jesus!  His love mainly… I believe if people knew about it they’d see how awesome He is and serve Him wholeheartedly.

11. If you’re to dedicate one poem to me, what will it be and why?

Hmmm… one poem?  well I would write one entitled “Sweet and Simple”.  That is the feeling I get when I read your work on your blog :-)

Alrighty my nominees are:

6.    If you had 3 wishes that you could get answered instantly what would you wish for and why?

7.    Do you believe in God?

8.    What leisure do you enjoy most?

9.    If you could teach me one life lesson, what would it be?

10.  Name one thing you do everyday that without it your day would feel incomplete.

So go ahead, Pick up your award and follow the guidelines.  Yay us!

I Thought…

I thought this thing between us was about how much I say I love you,
But its not,
I thought it was about how much I could do for you,
But its not.

I thought the idea of being in your family was what truly mattered,
But its not.
I thought saying the right things at the right time was the perfect way,
But its not.

I thought doing what others did for you was the way to go,
But its not.
I thought if I dressed the way they did it would impressed you,
But it did not.

I thought being the hallmark of success was what it would take,
But it’s not.
I thought having a great recognizable name with lots of letters behind it would surely be it,
But it’s not.

I thought for sure being adored by men was the obvious route,
But it’s not.
I thought establishing who I am supposed to be because everyone says so was a definite,
But it’s not

I’m tired. I’m exhausted. I’m weary! I’m weak!

I’m all played out,
I’m all thought out,
I’m all worn out,
I’m all grayed out,

I scream…
No, I holler from the depths of my aching soul…
((((((((( “Lord! I’M ALL OUT…OUT OF IDEAS ,)))))))
((((((((( WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? ))))))))))
((((((((( HOW DO I MAKE YOU LOVE ME?”)))))))))))

That’s when you answered simply, softly and sweetly below my shrieking screams:
“Just be yourself, I love you just the way you are,
My love for you is not dependent on you but in who I AM”

Ahh, I finally understand Lord,
It’s not that You haven’t been loving me,
Its just that I was so busy trying to impress You, by not being me, that I forgot how to receive Your pure love.

I am now at peace, ha, serenity at last; for I have found Someone who loves me just for me – eternally.

That feeling…

feeling

Have you ever had “a feeling”…

A feeling like something good/bad was going to happen?

I woke up with that feeling today.  It was the “something good is going to happen” feeling and I believe somehow, somewhere and at some point soon, this “something good is going to happen” feeling will manifest a real super thing.  So my friend, you know what  I decided?  I will feed it with the word of God, lift my faith and embrace the day.

You have the power to make your day work for you instead of you working for and through the day.  Dictate and declare your day.  Give your day an instruction and make it work for you.  When you wake up in the morning, between your yawning, teeth brushing and coffee, consciously speak to your day. Theme it if needs be:

“Today will be a day of specific ideas and wisdom. Today will be great and I will be happy in it”.

‘Today is a day of favour for me. Today I will get a great parking spot when the lots are full because this day is a day when God’s favour will be evident on me”.

“Today my boss will not tick me off.  Today is a day of peace.  I will have peace no matter what”

“Today my overwhelming school work will not overwhelm me at all.  Today is a day of intense and immense strength and ability for me.  I will complete assignments in a timely and focused manner”

“Today my child/children/siblings will not cause me to tear out my hair.  Today is a day of laughter for me.  I will embrace the day with a sense of humour and have joy despite what may come my way”.

Today my spouse will not drive me insane.  I will appreciate myself even if he/she doesn’t.  I will take a few minutes to love on me even if no one else does.

It doesn’t matter how simple it is – declare the word of God over your day and make it work for you. Do it constantly, daily, hourly and believe it when you speak it! You say, “Amo, what if I do and it goes awry?  What if it goes totally opposite to my declarations”.  So what?  It’s better to believe the word than not!  Being confident in the God you serve and in the ability to form and frame your world with your words works better over all for you than being negative and harbouring evil foreboding.

Look at this: When God spoke the world into being he said “Let there be!”  the word let indicates that something was opposing the formation of the world and His words, so he had to tell the opposition to release its hold so the worlds could be framed.  Therefore you may always have something opposing and fighting against your word but don’t give up.  Persistence of the righteous in speaking the word and conversing with God (prayer) avails much.  You plant seeds in the atmosphere and it must accomplish what it was sent to do – if not now, then later.  IT HAS TO!  God’s word cannot return to Him void.  That is a guarantee.

So go ahead. Speak to your world.  When the feeling of “something good” comes, welcome it – feed it and establish expectation of what’s to come.  When the feeling of “something bad is going to happen”  speak the goodness of the word to combat it.  Even if it does happen (which it very well may not), the word of God with your faith will cushion any blow that it would’ve caused.  Seriously, Its a win win situation.  Trust me – you’ll never lose in this one… keep at it and it will germinate good seeds for you.  Speak up – Speak up!

speak-out

Making Pancakes ~

pancakes

perfectpancake.info

Six-year-old Brandon decided one Saturday morning to fix his parents pancakes   He found a big bowl and spoon, pulled a chair to the counter, opened the cupboard and pulled out the heavy flour canister, spilling it on the floor. He scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, mixed in most of a cup of milk and added some sugar, leaving a floury trail on the floor which by now had a few tracks left by his kitten.

Brandon was covered with flour and getting frustrated. He wanted this to be something very good for Mom and Dad, but it was getting very bad. He didn’t know what to do next, whether to put it all into the oven or on the stove and he didn’t know how the stove worked! Suddenly he saw his kitten licking from the bowl of mix and reached to push her away, knocking the egg carton to the floor. Frantically he tried to clean up this monumental mess but slipped on the eggs, getting his pajamas white and sticky.

And just then he saw Dad standing at the door. Big crocodile tears welled up in Brandon ‘s eyes. All he’d wanted to do was something good, but he’d made a terrible mess. He was sure a scolding was coming, maybe even a spanking. But his father just watched him. Then, walking through the mess, he picked up his crying son, hugged him and loved him, getting his own pajamas white and sticky in the process!

That’s how God deals with us. We try to do something good in life, but it turns into a mess. Our marriage gets all sticky, or we insult a friend, or we can’t stand our job, or our health goes sour, our ministry gets divided, our businesses fail, our love ones die leaving a hole in our lives, our children become disobedient and out of order, our kindness was repelled…

Sometimes we just stand there in tears because we can’t think of anything else to do. That’s when God picks us up,  loves us and forgives us, even though some of our mess gets all over Him.

But just because we might mess up, we can’t stop trying to ‘make pancakes’ for God or for others. Sooner or later we’ll get it right, and then they’ll be glad we tried…

Get ‘er done

Guys, I know Mondays can be a little drag so before everything gets twisted and you get flustered and frustrated, declare that today will be your best day ever and this week will be your best week ever and decree that no matter what happens nothing will change it. Get the word of God and find all the necessary scriptures to back you up and make this week work in your favour in Jesus name.  If you work the Word, it will work for you. The book of Job tells us:

“Thou shalt also decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways”. (Job 22:28 KJV)

Get in that Word and begin to work it.  I am sending you a little buddy to help you. I hope he will inspire you to “get er done” since he is a reader himself.

SNIFFLES…

I-love-u_62

sniffles…

sniffles…

I sat just now and my heart began to overflow with complete joy and ecstasy over the eternal love of my life.  As tears flowed from deep within the recesses of my inner most being and personality, these words flowed effortlessly from my spirit and I wrote this to Him:

To give You my heart is all I live for,

To give You my soul is all I want to do,

To tell you thanks for being unlike what I thought I wanted,

But rather You turned out to be all I needed and more.

All I am, I am giving you,

I’m holding nothing back,

Everything I am, I willingly give to You Jesus,

For because of You I am what I am.

I love you.

The Sign

Sometime ago I was ministering in a service out of  town when a young man – Paul** walked up to me during a mini break and said “Pastor this may sound real crazy but do you have something on your ring to make it sparkle and shine the way it was?”  I found it to be an odd question so I smiled.  I said “what do you mean…exactly?”  He too smiled and said “While you were speaking, I felt like the Lord was speaking to me through the sparkle and shine of your ring.  I know it sounds strange but somehow I was fixated to your ring and I couldn’t help but feel a stirring in my heart that God could be saying something to me”.

spakling ring

The main reason I didn’t think he was completely nuts was due to the fact that I knew him well as a trusted man of prayer and the word.  I know He is not superstitious and so on, but even for him it was a little strange.  I smiled and said “ok, well after the service we’ll talk about it”.  He said ”ok pastor” and returned to his seat. The service resumed and I totally forgot the conversation.

At the end of the service, I was preparing to leave when the Lord said to me “Go and sow a seed into Paul’s life.”  I said “ok Lord”, and I went looking for him.  At the same time he was looking for me for us to talk.  We found each other and I was secretly trying to slide him the seed when he said “Pastor remember we need to talk”.   So I smiled and said “ohh, I totally forgot”.  We got into talking and he began to re-explain and expound all he told me earlier.  I told him I don’t know what it means but I will pray with him and maybe the Lord will speak to me through the prayer.  He said “ok Pastor”.  So I held his hands and began to pray.

In the midst of the prayer the Lord began to talk to me that He actually was speaking to Paul through the diamond sparkles in my ring.  The Lord told me that He allowed my ring’s glisten to shine excessively to get his attention. The Lord said that Paul had been praying about getting married and was unsure especially because he was heartbroken once.  He was fearful to go ahead with this major step and even though He had been speaking to his heart that this is the right person and now is the right time, his fear and uncertainty was not allowing him to make this bold step.  Therefore God grabbed his attention by shining His light unto my ring and used it as a means to speak to his heart.

It was a sign.  He saw the sign and followed its direction which led him to me and through me, confirmation about this major life decision was attained and so he could have peace and assurance in proceeding forward. I thought it was the craziest thing so I laughed.  I said to him “God really knows how to get our attention when we have our hearts set before Him.  He will use anything to speak to us once we are willing to listen”.  He replied “I believe that too Pastor”

I proceeded to inform him of all the Lord was saying to me. He was overjoyed.  I didn’t know he was dating and was praying for confirmation about this young lady.  These details I found out later.  The Lord also told me that I must help him with the wedding details and anything he needs assistance with when the time comes.  I also relayed this to him. Upon hearing, he fell on his knees and began to worship our Jesus.  What a glorious time it was…. it was beautiful! God is Beautiful!

I thought to myself, so many times the Lord uses the most unconventional means to speak to us but we miss it because we are expecting Him to speak the way we want, used to or expect. This causes us to sometimes make the wrong choices or making no choice at all.  When we syn our hearts to Jesus’, we must understand that we need to be open to any sign he chooses to use to speak to us. The importance is not the sign but to follow the direction, instruction or warning of that sign.

Prayer

Father thank You for being Lord. Thank You for loving me enough to want to lead and direct me into Your truth. Thank You for all your hidden and revealed signs that You have put up to guide me along the way.  Thank You for understanding that at times I may genuinely miss your instructions. So Lord please help me today to be open to any way you choose to speak to me so fulfillment and purpose can come to my life and you will be glorified in Jesus name.  Amen!
