*The Mirror*

In almost every home on planet earth there are somethings that are similar – a chair [of some sort],  utensils [of some sort], a bed [or a place on the ground to sleep]… We all use these things in our various homes.  Some people have more than some.  Some people have exquisite ones while others have simple ones.   However everyone in the Western world has one thing in common: the ability to see themselves in a mirror [of some sort – home mirrors, office mirrors, a car window, store windows etc.].  In our modern civilization everyone is able at some point in their life, to behold themself in a mirror. Some ladies carry it around in their purses, glancing occasionally to ensure they are still properly adorned and made-up.  Mirrors show how we are on the outside and can come in quite handy when we have important affairs [of whatever sort] to attend to and want to ensure that everything about us is together and in perfection. Mirrors reveal our reflection and helps us to basically keep a check on how we appear to others and ourselves as well.

I find that we have to constantly update our minds on how we look because we forget seconds after we last checked [how interesting]. Yet as true to the fact as that is, I realize also that we tend to not do spiritual check-ups on how we are to God. [How sad]. We always want to know how we look on the outside but rarely concentrate on how we appear on the inside – our hearts. We pay so much attention to our earthly houses [our bodies] while our hearts and minds lay waste and in ruins for the enemy to inhabit and fill with garbage and junk like: malice, envy, pride, lust, unforgiveness, greed, hatred, rebellion, backbiting, mischief, stinginess, unhealthy strongholds and the list is endless.

You know the Bible says that the  word of God acts like a mirror.

“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another…”. {2 Corinthians 3:18 Amp.}

Let me ask you: “If God was to place His mirror before you what would you see?”

Could you see a reflection of Jesus?

Would He see His very own image in you?

Father, I pray in the name of Jesus, that you would so entwine our hearts with yours today that our will become yours, our plans become yours, our thoughts line up with your words and our character reflects yours in Jesus name.  Amen.
