*Leftovers*

Today at church I realized something that made me soo sad. Some people really do not treat God the way He deserves to be treated.  It saddens me more when I know these persons are Christians who should know better and even be examples to those who are not kingdom citizens. You know as ministers, we are encouraged to preach the word, implore, beg and beseech the unsaved and unchurched to choose Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour but it hurts when you do and those who should know better are horrible representation of the worth and value of Jesus Christ himself.  Can you imagine, you have to go all out to do all you can to get people to see the importance of saving their own soul and then they (and Christians by title) just treat Jesus as if he is some despicable, dirty cloth that you just wanna throw in the garbage.

I may be sounding quite harsh but honestly I just feel a little beefed at the present.  I believe with all of my heart that in our Western civilization most if not everyone know about God in one way, shape or form.  They may not want to accept him as Lord and King but at least they know of him.  Considering this, I believe that one should just choose to serve him or not.  If we are undecided then be so discreetly, but we should not treat him as if he is some germ we want to Lysol away. That just hurts me…A LOT. His sacrifice of love on the cross is much more valuable than that and even more, He did it for us – ALL OF US!

“God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life”. (John 3:16 – GWB)

I am sorry if I have offended anyone but I just had to vent.  He deserves much better than we offer him.  Either we give him all of us or none of us.  Either we accept him or refuse him.  He is not about half-heartedness or lukewarmness.  [Nuh uh] All he wants to do is love us. THATS ALL.  He is all love.  All love.  Truly all love.  Please people don’t treat his love like lust…its far from that.  It’s anything but that.  His love caused him to leave his wealth, splendor and glory of heaven, take the shape of man, live among us and die a brutal death for us just so that we can be with him forever and never have the separation of death, hell or the grave.

“God has shown us his love by sending his only Son into the world so that we could have life through him”. 1 John 4:9 – (GWB)

[sigh] I do my best and will continue to do my utmost best to represent Jesus, but honestly I just believe that we as a people ought to have a little more respect for his blood and all he has done whether or not we want Him or choose to reject all he did for us.   We should not treat him like a fly on the wall we want to squash…he is NOTHING LIKE THAT AT ALL.   He is God, King, Saviour, Lord, Father, Friend…love, peace, joy, fire and basically He is life. Without  him there is no life AT ALL.  He has sacrificed his own life for all humanity so we can be immortals.  I believe the least we can do is gracefully – with absoluteness, either accept or reject him but please stop treating him like scraps or leftovers.
