Jesus Said what???

Today was a very exciting day. Our ministry went on our first Outreach (RMO) to provide for the needs of the impoverished and visit the sick in the Hospital.  It was lovely.  I felt so great to be able to meet the needs of the needy, care for the poor and visit the sick.  As  a ministry we always do so individually but this was our first collective outreach.  In June, we will be one year old and since then we have practised ourselves to do so selflessly for others.  We decided to train ourselves to see the needs of those around us.  We pray constantly for God to allow us to be sensitive to the needs of those around us.  So we really believed that it was time to do so now on a collective level and it was simply fulfilling.

Matthew tells us that Jesus will welcome some people into heaven and will turn away some based on some simply things.  Other things are involved in the acceptance and rejection of course but some things are quite factorial in his decision. He said to them: ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.  For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.  I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?  Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?  When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Don’t get me wrong you know…its not our works that take us to heaven.  The Bible tells us that Jesus is the only way.  We get to heaven through him and only him.  However when we do these works we are representing him and revealing his love for others in a tangible way.

It was truly an honour to represent him today.  Let us continue to reveal his love, nature and character in our everyday living, by our lifestyle and of course, by being his hands and feet in this earth and let the world know He is not only alive but real and He loves us all more than we could ever know.
